This short film follows the creation of the "Passing the Seeds" wampum belt. Wampum belts, Quahog shell beads bound on strings, in intricate patterns, are used as a guide to narrate Haudenosaunee history, traditions, laws and treaties or agreements between groups.
SHELBY LISK—Director Shelby Lisk is a filmmaker, artist and writer from Kenhté:ke (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, in Ontario). She has an educational background in visual arts and photojournalism and has completed a certificate in Mohawk language and culture through Queen’s University and Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na. Shelby currently works as a journalist covering Indigenous issues and current affairs.
