Jamie Miller
Jamie Miller is an award-winning director and producer of documentary and fictional films. Born in Newfoundland, she began Seachange Films with the desire to create work that feels as passionate as her own draw towards the ocean.
Her directorial debut, Prince’s Tale, received a Canadian Screen Award nomination and 7 festival awards including Best Canadian Short at Hot Docs, Best Documentary Short at Calgary International Film Festival, and Best Short at Lunenburg Doc Fest, as well as 4 Audience Choice awards. MerB'ys has been featured in 8 festivals across Canada and is streaming on CBC Gem.
Jamie recently won the 2020 RBC Michelle Jackson Emerging Filmmaker Award to direct her first short drama, Proximity, which will premiere at the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival in October 2021.
Jamie received her BFA in Film Production from York University in 2012. She is an alumna of the DOC Breakthrough program and Women in the Director’s Chair.
