Synopsis
In a school for individuals with Down Syndrome, four middle-aged friends yearn for a life of greater autonomy in a society that marginalizes them as disabled. They always believed that they would be able to do everything they weren't allowed before, like living on their own, driving, hanging out, having sex, being parents, getting married, and having a real job. But things are not changing for them, they have Down Syndrome and they have to deal with the frustration of living as if they were still ten years old, when they are almost fifty. The Grown-Ups is a humorous and at times sad and uncomfortable look at the tragic limbo of conscious adults
